FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What materials do you offer?
All of our items are printed in PLA+, if you have a special need contact us and we will work with you. We have over 15 materials to choose from and can special order almost anything upon request.
When will my item ship?
Most items are printed the next business day. However when we are very busy, or we are printing a large item, it may take longer. We reserve 3 business days for most items, 5 days, for large items, and 2 weeks for full armor sets. Custom, large or complex items simply take longer to print. Should there be a problem, or a delay we will contact you about your item.
What is 3D printing?
3D printing is an additive manufacturing process which uses a 3D model to produce a physical item. 3D Cauldron specializes in FDM 3D Printing.
What is FDM printing?
FDM or fused deposition modeling, is the process of building a model layer by layer using heat to melt the build material. 3D Cauldron specializes in FDM printing, using thermoplastics as a build material. While we only print FDM plastics in house, we have access to a vast network of 3D printing resources. We can get your item printed in everything from ceramics to metals. Contact us for details.
What is support material?
During the printing process some parts of a model need to be supported. The support material is designed to support sections of a model when there is nothing below it. This material is sparse and is typically easily removed after a print. We sometimes leave support material intact to protect items during shipping.
